What major/minor helps with understanding other people and reading them?

so I'm a declared CIT major. But I want a minor that helps me understand other people. I want to be able to relate to people, to not be socially naive, to understand when people are lying, etc. I want to be able to see the reasoning behind certain social skills, etc. What would be a good minor? I knew a guy who majored in something like that and was able to tell me the evolutionary reasons why people wouldn't listen to me in certain situations. It was really weird.

I don't have the best understanding of how others think, so does anyone know what major/minor this is? How well do you think it fares against other majors/minors?
