What department should someone interested in cellular automata be looking at for graduate school? Is this a dead field (meaning I'm SOL) or are there active researchers in CS and/or math departments that are still interested in this? Also, if anyone knows of a specific school and faculty member then that would be a great help.
I ask because I have been working on an independant project and it has taken on a more "mathematical" flavor and I was interested in graduate school if there is anyone that could act as an advisor.
