Whilst this question's answers could be highly subjective, I was wondering if there were any tools that (even if not widely known) revolutionized or showed that formal education can be a lot better.
I know Khan's Academy, Skillshare, Coursera and the likes. But they didn't really bring anything new to the table. We've had videos for quite some time. Perhaps what they brought in was the possibility of simulating a classroom (assingments and so on).
There are also multiple sites such as NYC University and Academic Earth, but really, they're, more or less, just video sharing platforms with something on top of them.
To add on top of the original question - is there any tool that took a different approach to education?
Or well - is there any research / startup that is upcoming with a new way of doing teaching?
