What are the crucial components of a "lit review" publication?

Our MA theses are typically in the form of a literature review. We will get some examples next month or so, but I want to get prepared ahead of time. What are some good examples of Literature Reviews from a methodological/organizational perspective in your field? Bonus points for responses from humanities majors! Thanks a lot!
