I have a paper coauthored with my former advisor and he sent it to an expert for review before submission to a journal. Now a couple of weeks passed by, no news is known to me. And now somehow I would like to know the status of that paper.
I thus am wondering if it is an academically no-hurt action to ask my former advisor about the status of the paper? My concern is simply that I am afraid my former advisor would feel I am pushy or something negative alike.
Moreover, if it is a no-hurt action, I would like to know how to formulate such an email properly.
