After sending an email to a professor, have long do I need to wait to send another email if no response?

From time to time I come across this problem. I send an email for asking a professor about something, say making an appointment to have the professor's opinion on something, and does not hear back from the professor. In this case, how long is the reasonable amount of time for me to resend a like email?
