If I tell my professor that I am taking a course (not taught by him) because I was influenced by this other course which he taught some time ago as his student, how would this be received by a prof?
i.e. I am now taking course X because your teaching in course Y
In general, would this be seen as a compliment? Or would this be met with a neutral reaction?
If not, what are some ways a professor would be complimented by his student without appearing as too much of a flatter?
