This is about my first paper that I have submitted to a decent mathematical journal more than six months ago. Later, after communicating with several people, I find the notations that I used in the paper are very confusing, and thus people may have serious difficulty in understanding my work.
Now, I have revised my paper work, by reducing some notations, adding more examples, more explanations, and I think the revised version would be much much better in the representation than the previous one. But there is no implement or delete on the result of the paper. I find nothing wrong in the proof.
I just worry so much whether the referee would be much annoyed on the notation that I previously use, and thus lose interest in my paper. So, I consider to re-submit the revision to the editor to make referee better understand my work. But I some people say the referee would be unhappy to see the revision if it is not asked to submit.
Two weeks ago, I got the reply by the editor saying the paper is still under view, but he said nothing like when the review would finish. He used the sentense like 'it is thus difficult to put excessive pressure on the reviewers'. So, I guess possibily the review still need a long time to finish.
Could you please give me suggestions whether to submit the revision or not, please? Thanks a lot.
