Theme of master's thesis for student of spatial planning

I would like to ask you if you could help me/suggest me some actual themes in spatial planning that i could elaborate for master's thesis. I like a lot GIS technologies and maybe this technology could be important part of my thesis. Is there any list of actual problems, themes? Also master's thesis could be like a starter for a PhD in the future for me.
