IT Professional with 15 years of Experience. Looking to cross train in to Big-Data Technology

I am an IT professional with 15 years of experience in System Development/Integration/Architecture with Microsoft Technology Stack. I have keen interest in the Big-Data technology and would like to cross train my self for two reasons. 1. Big Data has got huge opportunity from Growth and money perspective. 2. This would provide me secondary skills in the field of IT.

I also enquired in the university near to me has offer Masters in Big Data and thinking of enrolling from next September. And Looking for advice. I do have some Java Experience.
